Miller & Smith successfully brought a dormant development back into compliance with regulatory requirements.
Miller & Smith amended the approved preliminary plan of the subdivision to gain additional land and flexibility by converting public streets to private streets and improve profitability.
Miller & Smith worked with surrounding community and County officials to facilitate conversion of the property from an under-construction industrial park into a property for used for municipal County services. The cooperative effort with high level County staff resulted in accomplishing the County Executive’s major goal of County Smart Growth Vision to relocate existing County uses from the Shady Grove Metro Station immediate area.
Miller & Smith’s land development team successfully turned the site’s biggest liability, unconsolidated concrete rubble, into an asset by crushing thousands of cubic yards of concrete for use in grading the site. This answered one of the site’s largest uncertainties by converting a large area of formerly unusable land into useable acreage.
Miller & Smith constructed the Lois Green Conservation Park parking lot, and improved access to the park and the Izaak Walton League property.
Key example of a project which highlights the flexibility of Miller & Smith
