Formed as five California childhood friends and three Midwestern transplants, The Mowgli’s blend San Francisco charm, Los Angeles grind and Big Sur Coast serenity, spanning rock ‘n roll to indie folk dance. Their 2013 debut album, Waiting For The Dawn, released the single “San Francisco,” which made it to number 11 on the Billboard’s alternative chart.
“Over the years we’ve been able to bring special up-and-coming performers to the YouthFest stage,” said Carol Kost, Founder of Loudoun Youth, Inc., “The Mowgli’s will continue the tradition, bringing their unique sound to an already exciting day of local youth bands and performers.”
Now in its ninth year, Loudoun YouthFest draws fans for a day of teen-centered concerts and activities. Local youth band winners of the countywide Battle of the Bands series perform as opening acts, followed by a major headliner band. “Serving as a tournament for local bands, YouthFest and the Battles provide a showcase for local talent that we proudly provide for the community,” stated Dave Carver, Division Manager, Sports & Youth Services at PRCS.
“The Loudoun YouthFest headliner band is key for drawing attendees to the concert,” said Bill May, Vice President of Miller and Smith and Board member of Loudoun Youth, Inc. “We look forward to hosting The Mowgli’s and their fans at One Loudoun this summer.”
